The Frankfurt Book Fair provided an opportunity for outstanding books to shine this year. Both readers and publishing industry leaders were drawn to these pieces because of their compelling themes and distinctive viewpoints. They prompted discussions, inspired new perspectives served as a reminder of the broad appeal of storytelling.

“The New Gospel of the Kingdom According to Saint Mark” by Bennie Earl Jenkins offers a refreshed and powerful presentation of the gospel, specifically focusing on the teachings of King Yeshua (Jesus Christ) as found in the Gospel of Mark. The author highlights the gospel’s core message—Jesus’ life, teachings, sacrifice triumph over death—while emphasizing His kingship and divinity.

The book criticizes the way some spread the gospel by offering the entire Bible or handing out tracts, which may overwhelm or fail to communicate the essence of Christ’s kingship. Instead, The New Gospel of the Kingdom provides a concise yet complete narrative that underscores Jesus as King, both on Earth and in Heaven. The author highlights the importance of recognizing Jesus not just as a Jewish Rabbi, but as King Yeshua, the Son of God the King of Kings.

Jenkins argues that while many Christians worship Jesus as a Rabbi, they should recognize and revere Him as the King He truly is. This idea is presented in stark contrast to the efforts of His enemies to deny His kingship. Jenkins uses His Hebrew name, Yeshua, throughout the book to elevate Jesus’ authority and kingship. He also includes references to Jesus’ royal titles in multiple languages, affirming His universal sovereignty.

The book seeks to restore reverence, respect honor to Jesus’ name, elevating Him as the King He is and was always meant to be. It is intended as a tool for those sharing the gospel, with the hope of inspiring a deeper, more respectful understanding of Christ’s divine rule.
